Which parts do you go through the most?
I usually go trough pedals pretty quick. Also tires and wheels.
Describe your bike setup and how you like your bike to feel…
Right now it is a pretty low rear end and a tall front end with a few extra spacers under the stem and the big tire in the front with a tall bars-8.25″, uncut. On the frame, the BB is only 11.5″ high; a little lower that the normal frames. I love to feel the high front end!
What part are you most particular about or do you feel makes the biggest difference on your bike?
As of right now, I would say the frame.
Do you remember your first “real” BMX bike?
Yes I do, haha. Really sketchy plastic wheels, every tube on the bike was so thin that make it even more scary. Chrome parts and frame, six-piece bars, the seat tube was bent back, and it didn’t use axle nuts, the pegs had the integrated nut inside and were aluminum.
Why did you decide to take the brakes off, and how has it been so far on the vert ramp?
Before I got my new bike one of my Gyro tabs broke. I couldn’t fix it while I was riding, so I just took it of. Rode it three days, then build this new one brakeless. I really like it, it is a challenge. It is a big mental game, but is totally possible. I just rode a small vert ramp today and it was scary, hahaha. I don’t care, I will get used to it. I love the feeling of my bike now. I need to have so much control all the time, especially when you go fast on big ramps.
How important is it to you that your bike looks good?
Ah, is very important. It is part of me-I think if you look at someone else bike you can totally see part of that rider’s personality, and is cool to see how diverse the riders are.
How important is weight to you? Do you know how much this bike weighs?
To me weight is very important, I love to move the bike and I really like put the bike right where I want it, so having a light bike helps me a lot! Not on windy days though!
